bad education

A college education is useless, no matter what the degree. The universities make you feel you need their piece of paper because they make money off of you. Corporations in cahoots with them perpetuate this myth by asking for that piece of paper. Youre still an ignorant jerk, but an ignorant jerk with a diploma.

With the internet + real life experience, you get a much more valuable education. I remember this TV show where the son of the bank owner wants to go to college (to nail chicks, no doubt) but his dad wasnt having any of it. He said, "The best place to learn about banking is in a bank."

right. i don't see anything in my transcript of records that helped me solve Eximbills problems.

but then again, those who took Computer Science and wrestled with all those arcane computer languages and disciplines for 4 years have properly used that training (and that piece of paper) to land themselves neat jobs. i'm sure they're still using that college education (exhibit A: my brother whom you will be pleased to know, came from UP).

Yes, but the fact remains, they dont need that piece of paper to learn computer languages and computer science anymore. The information is all over the place. A vocational course in computers is all that's needed for the ordinary schmoe, and a vocational course plus an internet connection is needed by someone with more ambition. That's why we really have to fight that this service be free. Or at least relatively low-cost. Dell, Jobs, Gates, knew early on the utter stupidity of trying to go for that piece of paper when they knew they really didnt need it.

As for your brother, well done there, sport.
